Title: ServerUDP: Received sources for unknown file
Post by: Beersheva on December 13, 2006, 07:18:36 PM
dear all
When running amule, it often gets practically inresponsive, saying: ServerUDP: Received sources for unknown file.
It comes and goes...what can the reason be?

thanks for any idea!

I don't think that message has anything to do with the slowdowns that you are experiencing. I would guess that it happens because a client sends you sources for a file that you have already removed from your share (or canceled downloading).

Regarding those slowdowns, could you tell us what Mac you are using (CPU, Ram), and which version of OS X and aMule?

It is an i-Mac, 2001, 800 Mhz, G4 (2.1) 768 MB main memory, running OS X 10.4.8.
The amule version is 2.1.3.

Thanks for your help!

aMule is a little more resource hungry on the Mac than it should be. This is not an issue on G5 and Intel based Macs, but on single-G4 systems aMule can be a little sluggish at times.

What you can do is to try if downloading fewer popular files at the same time or reducing the number of connections (Preferences->connection) and the 'max number of connections / 5s' (preferences->core tweaks) make a difference.
