Title: RC3 chrashes
Post by: greaman on April 29, 2004, 04:28:00 PM
I had several crashes now in only one hour... mostly wihtout a backtrace.

I Had one crash just a minute ago while looking at the sources for a file:
OOPS! - Seems like aMule crashed

I could reproduce the error just by showing the sources to a fill and then scroll down... amule crashes

Please post gdb backtraces (take a look at http://www.amule-project.net/amule/thread.php?threadid=298&sid= ).
aMule's backtrace isn't enough verbose.
Thanx, and greetings.

So far amule has not crashed. But I can not say that is working properly. When I first start amule and I click on to connect to a server, for a couple of seconds it does not respond. After that period of time, it is again functional.

Moreover, I found something else and I do not know if this is new. In a folder I have 5 files which I am sharing. Somehow, only four files are in the list "shared files". Any idea?

greaman, try to disable progress bars on the prefs

AFAIK, Kry fixed the progressbar problems. Here works fine with progressbar enabled (rc2 crashed with progressbar enabled here).

Master: please start separate threads for different issues ;-)

Greetings.

Strange. Filesystem? Platform? Filenames and filename not listed? Size of the file? etc...
Also paste the output in the console window.

Even more, try moving temporaly ~/.aMule and ~/.eMule and see if it "detects" that file

Greetings.

And you sure the file is not duplicated anywhere?

btw, when posting the filenames... check if they're compirighted stuff. Make sure you "arrange" the names a little if they are ;-P

I will try to answer your questions...
Let see,
The folder is on a FAT 32 harddisk (I am using Linux). In the folder there are 6 files, whose size vary, i.e. 486MB-702MB. The file that is not shown on the shared files is 641MB.
The file is not duplicated.
I did not try to delete .amule and .emule. I will try that later.

On some other thread, someone had similar (but not same) problem. The way to fixed it (suggested by Kry) was to remove ~/.aMule/known.met file. Warning: All files will be rehashed. That takes some time and lots of CPU.
If that doesn't work, then try renaming .aMule and .eMule...

Hope that helps
Greetings.

Do not worry. Every time I start amule it rehashes some files. For about 2 min the CPU usage is 100%

Anyway, please tell if that did or nor, ok? ;-)
