Title: cannot download
Post by: hotte on July 21, 2004, 02:09:28 PM
hi there

i have a weird problem since rc4. i can upload but the downloads do not work although there are
a lot sources for the files (>100). i am behind a nat system but portfw and firewall rules are ok.
i am always getting a high id. i also tried to restart with an empty .aMule and .eMulerc but that didnt help. so my conclusion is that this behaviour must be a bug in amule.
can someone verify and/or fix this please?

aMule is known to be one of the fastests (if not the fastest) ed2k clients. So no problem on that side.
Now, if you go removing the ~/.aMule directory, you will be always loosoing the credits other ppl have on you, nd so, they will be ore time in queue and less time downloading, ou will win less credits on them and have less download.
Stay calm, give some days untill you have enough credits on other ppl's clients and then, downloading speed will begin to be great.
Read http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ_eD2k/Kademlia to know what credits are if you don't know already.
Again, wait some days, maybe a couple of weeks. Download speed is slow first days, then it boosts up.
Greetings!

of course i know what credits are. i started with lmule, went to xmule and finally to amule. i have enough credits. and beside that my amule is running 24/7 and despite that the downloads dont
start. last time i checked the statistics before i upgraded to amule cvs i had a ratio of  about 3500:1 ul/dl (again).

something is wrong...

Try changing your ports. Your ISP could be throttling those you are currently using.
