No more problems once wx compiled by myself, and far far better with the last RPMs released by The Polish :baby:
Thanks for your last two packages !!!
------------------------------------------------
Initial post following
------------------------------------------------
After installing Rc6-2 rpm for mdk 10.1.
When I run aMule without any config file, it starts well, I can browse all over the different tabs and preferences.
As soon as I retrieve a server list, or manually enter a server, it systematically crashes, giving the following error messages :
OOPS! - Seems like aMule crashed.
Version is: aMule 2.0.0rc6 using wxGTK2 v2.5.1
--== BACKTRACE FOLLOWS: ==--
- amule(_ZN9CamuleApp16OnFatalExceptionEv+0x42) [0x8235cf2]
[1] /usr/lib/libwx_base-2.5.so.1(wxFatalSignalHandler+0x23)
[0x404a26c3]
[2] [0x8812ce4]
Aborted
What is weird, is that I have the same error when I compile aMule from scratch. Therefore I think there should be a problem with some of the libraries provided by mdk.
If someone could check which are the version of the libraries used on its mdk 10.1, that would be great (rpm -q -whatprovides NameOfLibrary returns the package name and version)
Thanks
Yann

If u compile it and have the same crash, please compile it in debug mode, then run it under gdb and post bt+bt full
Thanks

Just removed the mdk wx rpms and actually trying to compile with original wx2.5.2 from wxwindows.org to see if it works......

Just remember to link to GTK2 with --enable-gtk2
EDIT: never mind probably you meant instaling rpms.
-
If u compile wx urself, u can --enable-unicode too

A little (although a bit selfish :P ) petition....If you find the solution to this bug/problem/whatever, please PM me with the solution. I've just begun the first year of university, and I don't have time now for more headaches :)
Thanks!
EDIT: It seems that the bug is located in libwx_base-2.5.so.1...(it's strange...wxBase is no more necessary in RC6....or it has nothing in common? maybe a lost/old/obsolete library requirement?)
-
Compiled wxbase and wxgtk2 from sources provided by wxwindowws.org. Had problems because of file missing in original archive for X11/GTK (clntdata.h)......
Then finaly when I was able to compile and install those, I can't compile aMule anymore....
Think I'm gonna forget this until next release.... I'm getting mad with this :( :( :(

in 2.5.x version, wxBase libs are needed for wxGTK. Thats why they are built together and not in a separate package.

I think problem will be the same with rc7, rcX... Unsolved problems under Mandrake are all located in the 10.1 release. AND, it is a community release, not the final one, and it remains a LOT of bugs in it. Worse, wx packages are not well managed by contrubutors: unicode one is broken, and u report u have pb with wxBase-2.5.1
So, seems thats problem are Mandrake located, not amule...
Remember thats is the first time we use wx from mandrake distro for amule. So came problems...
I build a wx package soon and link a new rpm with it, we will see if things are better

I think I was a bit upset yesterday evening ;-) Having new try today.

I compiled and made some rpms for wxgtk 2.5.2, with unicode and gtk2.
aMule is now compiling and working, except for the search results (like in the post slackware & gtk2).
This was definitely a problem with wx libraries provided by Mandrake.

Hi,
I ve posted 2 new mdk rpm: aMule and wxGTK-2.5.3 to avoid using mdk wx rpms. Should work better that 2.5.2 which is quite buggy, and provide good GTK2 and unicode support.
RPMS for 10.0 are online, those for 10.1 will come during the day. Dont use 10.0 ones on 10.1, this wont work (different versions off gcc)

About crashing on server.met : fixed on cvs

OK, with the "Custom" packages posted in aMule's main page, I don't have errors/crashes anymore, works like a charm
Thank you, guys!
