Title: Slackware current and GTK2
Post by: Theetjuh on October 05, 2004, 08:18:14 PM
With GTK2 enabled the search dialog doesn't work, it compiles ok though.

When you enable external connections (webserver) it crashes at startup.

Screenshot: search dialog (http://plus-hoogeveen.xs4all.nl/theetjuh/aMule-2.0.0rc6.png)

Compiled with --enable-unicode works though, but only with GTK1

I'm running slackware-current with Dropline Gnome (http://www.dropline.net/gnome/) 2.6 / 2.8 and a self-compiled 2.6.8.1 kernel.

Which info do you need to have so it can work ? versions ?

the problem lies between newer gtk2 versions and wxGTK....

they somehow have not all the needed patches in wxGTK, so at the end you have display bugs in amule.

we hope they fix it soon in wx-cvs, so also newer gtk2 version and wxGTK work with amule

If tested with wxGTK 2.5.2 compiled with gtk2 and unicode

gtk version is 2.4.10

well, for me it worked very well when I used wx cvs instead of wx 2.5.2.

I've compiled wxGTK-CVS10062004-i686-1thee.tgz ... aMule is recompiling at the moment.

It works ... with GTK2 and Unicode enabled :baby:

But ...

I'm getting the following error:

well the error message is taht you dont have the amule.tmpl which is in your source forlder in your homedir, so you cannot use webserver atm, just copy it and then this message should disaper.

but the output is still strange

does a patch for wxwidgets 2.5.2 exist which fixes the behavior of the search tabs?

probably not....
and you have to recompile it anyways...so it does not make a difference if you get 2.5.3 (wx-cvs)

also connections are much better in 2.5.3.....
