Title: [aMule 2.0.0RC7] WebServer
Post by: skolnick on October 21, 2004, 04:00:54 PM
Hi there!

It's me again, reporting the latest bug I've found in aMule :D

Well, first of all, thanks for fixing the annoying bugs I described before. U rule. Almost everything works OK now. But...the webserver, which was working fine, is broken now. First, my computer:

Mandrake 10.0 Download edition
wxGTK 2.5.3 (--enable-gtk2 --enable-unicode)
aMule 2.0.0RC7 (--enable-webserver)

All locally compiled. But, when I try to connect to aMule (amuleweb -p 14712) it asks for my password, which is fine, and connects, and it says is working...but then aMule stops responding. The window will not refresh, will stay all white. No buttons, no nothing. It will not even close. I have to use xkill :(

Any ideas? did I compile anything wrong? BTW, I did not recompile wxBase, since I think is not needed anymore, so the old 2.5.3 remains installed. Could that be the problem?

Thanks for any help, I'm desperately needing a _working_ webserver.

Skolnick.

Hi,

One person is reporting a segfault  with amuleweb and the same config as yours.

Also reports about a blank web page when seems to work..

No idea of the causes

Contact our specialist stefanero on IRC :)

the segfault and blank page are due to gtk2/u in mdk rpms....

and since yours are aswell with 2.5.3 and unicode and gtk2 I believe same thing....

maybe try withiout unicode and with gtk2 first, to find out if thats the problem

stefanero

PS. Now question is, is it a wxBug or amuleweb mistake...since its working wih gtk1 without problems I guess its wxBug

OK. I'll try all the suggestions...I don't care at all about unicode. In fact...I have no idea why it could be necessary (at least for me, because I use no oriental/arabic language) but gtk2 is a must for me. It make amule look so nice, I prefer running emule on windows before using amule with only GTK1. :P

Regards.

I have it in systray anyways...what do I care about gtk2 ;)

but try without unicode....
and also if still password does not work try
amuleweb -f

the -f option reads teh password from teh .eMule file....

The password does work, that's not the problem. Problem is amule stops responding after starting amuleweb. Thanks for the -f hint, anyway.

Hi,

Ok, it seems amuleweb pb is wx 2.5.3 problem, not clear if it is due to unicode or gtk2.

So i will made a mdk rpm with wx-2.4.2 already provided on site, so should work.

Thats weird. Amule look nice with gtk2, and unicode is nice for our arabic, chinese, or hebrew users...

Not clear if it due to wx only or amule + wx 2.5.3, but i hope all will be solved in 2.6.0

Anyway, rpm for mandrake 10.0 sunday, 10.1, maybe tomorrow (not sure) or monday

Well,

Stefanero just tell me there is a search bug in amuleweb with 2.4.2 !

So maybe a rpm with 2.5.3 gtk1...

amuleweb works OK for me when I recompiled wxgtk 2.5.3 without the --enable-unicode option, but with the --enable-gtk2 option. Then, I recompiled aMule (--enable-webserver). Now, amule looks good, webserver works, but i have no unicode support.

Hi,

I'm one who report the amuleweb crash.
So it seem to be due to unicode.

I'm not very easy with compilation so if I could not compile anything....
So I'm waiting your rpms, ThePolish !

If I can make a suggestion, it will be very cool if you could put your rpms in th donwload section of the site.

At least, I've notice that amule could be compiled with --enable-webserver, is it meaning that amuleweb is no more useful with this option ?

Thanks for your work.

WaRRio.

Hi,

Yes, it seems to be du to unicode...

I need more time to makes rpm, i work too much :)

Seriously, i was waiting a bit more in case off some dev find a pacth for this problem.

because if not, there will be 8 packages ! 10.1 and 10.0, then unicode or not,  wx + amule !

--enable-webserver just compile amuleweb, it is done like that in rpm

Title: Bug: amuleweb - amulewebDLG
Post by: WaRRio on October 27, 2004, 02:08:12 AM
I've a little bug I think:

when launchinh amuleweb(DLG) the " (timeout = 10 sec)  " seems not to work:
if it does not find the amule client in 1 second, it exit.

It's a limitaion when you're trying to launch amule and amuleweb at startup...

tx, see ya.

I did it by reflex, I just signaled it in case of missing dependances in RPM.
