Title: usb modem => crash linux
Post by: xround on October 29, 2004, 03:33:41 AM
Hello,

I cannot get rid of the problem. Each time I run amule, I have a full crash of linux (no kbd, no mouse, screen is "fix"), and I have to reboot.

I use a RH9 ( kernel 2.4.27), the CDCEther driver for my usb modem.
I have installed amule with the procedure I found on the site, and have a HighId.
And Linux crash after at most 10 hours.
I cannot find logs thatt would help me.

Don't know where to find information that would help me.
Any help would be welcome.
Thanks, xround.

Hi,

There are known issues with usb modem, try to decrease the number of connections/20s, and the total of connections in prefs.

What is your model ?

Yes, but those issues only affect the connection itself, and shouln't be bringing down the entire machine. o_O

Known issues with usb drivers to be precise in this case, not with aMule :)  Xaignar, thats a freebox, not really a standard modem, but has rj45 too, so resolved as soon  as xround will find a free pci port :)
