Title: error on startup

When I try to launch Amule, I have this :

Initialising aMule

OOPS! - Seems like aMule crashed.
        Version is: aMule 2.0.0rc7 using wxGTK1 v2.4.2

are you on debian? do you have Autoconnect set in Preferences?

I am on Gentoo and i don't know if i have autoconnect set in preferences. But I don't think.

why do you run amule as root ?
