Title: extreme "failed" times
Post by: s0undt3ch on December 31, 2004, 12:17:10 AM
Hi all, I think this might be a bug, of some sort. I also reported it here (http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=4454&sid=&threadview=0&hilight=&hilightuser=0&page=2), but at the time, I had compiled from a CVS tarball.

The strangest behaviour is happening, I was connected for something like 12H, and always to the same server, and the failed times on it was reaching +3500!!!!
The same was happening for another server I had in the list, both are Portuguese servers, running 16.49 and 17.1 ludgunun, but for razorback2 there was 0 failed times. Something esle I noticed was that razor's server had a ping time, and the others didn't had nothing, although I see razor's failed times turn to 1, then 0, and then it's ping time is updated, as said the other two keep adding up failures.

Because of this I get, of couse, blacklisted from the servers, and I also get messages stating that my mule is behing agressive.

As I said on the other thread, I'm using IPFILTER, but I can only turn it off in 2005, I already got above my international limits....

Is this a bug? Something else? What?

Thanks!!!

P.S.: Yes, my server list has only 3 servers....

I disconnected from the internet and reconnected to get a new IP and aMule is running with a high ID for 1H50mins, an the number of failed times is now at 391, ping for razorback2(only) is 486.

I still haven't been blacklisted, yet!!!

Servers are not replying the OP_SERVSTATSREQ you're sending to them, so aMule increases their failed count.

About the reason this happens, no idea.

Found what the problem was on the Portuguese posts.

The problem was that the Portuguese servers have an address like:
sado.kick-ass.net
or
tejo.kick-ass.net
instead of just an IP.
Since I changed the address of the Portuguese server to IP's, I stopped having this problem!!!

Just to help someone that might also have this problem

Hello kry, here I am again, after all this time. The portuguese servers changed ip's so I had to add the dynamic url's which is having the same fails.

Might this be solved? Preferrably before v2.0.0 final is released? I don't think that only the portuguese servers use dynamic IP's, so a lot of people might be having this problem whitout even knowing why, they might be even removing the servers that fail...

I'll be posting on the Portuguese forum to see what they do, and even if they have the same problem as I do.

P.S. I'm now running a CVS dated 19/feb/05

I hope it goes well. Will be as long as you already know the ip for that server, which will be there because you sent a packet to it... so must be safe.
