Title: Problems with cas and wxcas
Post by: Frankk on February 25, 2005, 02:42:40 PM
I'm having problems with cas and wxcas recently.

both cas and wxcas give me bad values:

aMule 0 has been running for 01 secs
10921125095 is on 195.245.244.243 [4661:H] with LowID
Total Download: 23.31 Gb, Upload: Bad format
Session Download: 2.43 Mb, Upload: 258.00 bytes
Download: 10,0 kB/s, Upload: 152 kB/s
Sharing: [ITA] Frankk [enkey] file(s), Clients on queue: 58

The 10,0 kB/s that you see for Download speed is Upload speed instead; 23.31 Gb is total Upload. Seems like values are all shifted to the left by one position. Or some similar problem...
Until some weeks ago I used cas to write my signature (the png you can see here) but now when I type cas -o I only get the same output as cas (without -o)

My sig is at least two weeks old.

Sorry if this is a known bug.

If I recall correctly there was such an issue on CVS some time ago. Is this a recent cvs tarball? If not please try compiling one. And if you use wxGTK2.4.2 please take a look here: http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=5263&sid= before trying to compile  :)

I deleted amulesig.dat and onlinesig.dat and restarted amule.
Now I get correct values, but "cas -o" doesn't work yet...

Thanks for support.

Do I understand this correct: 'cas' gives you the right output to the concole, but 'cas -o' doesn't produce the picture? Does it give you any output?

yes, I get same output as "cas" without "-o".

Now my sign is generated by wxcas instead

You know, I just keep on quoting myself because I think it is cool, not because I would like to have an answer to this question...  :)

I don't know about the 10 quotes, but I know that bad cas and wxcas output is starting to come out again after a while. Again if I remove amulesig.dat and onlinesig.dat works fine but problems reappears in a few minutes? hours? in don't know exactly...

Btw, Frankk, do you intend to answer thedude0001's question before or after the 10 messages limit? :P

Ops, sorry, I was pretty sure I wrote it in my first post...
Btw I'm using yesterday's CVS: 25 Feb 2005

I'm compiling today's one now.

EDIT: Seems that we reached the 10 quotes limit

Since it seems that this problem persists for me I re-up the thread...

Summary:

1) wxcas and cas show correct values when launched initially, but after some time they start to show bad values (inverted or scrambled, for example my nick instead of shared files or similar things, for an example just look at my sig).

2) wxcas can correctly output png image, but "cas -o" just do nothing, I gat the same output as "cas" without arguments. It worked fine some time ago.

These bugs appeared together but I'm not sure if they are correlated in any manner.

Hope thay they can be resolved.

I'm running CVS of 28 Feb and I'm compiling today's one now.
I also tryed setting LC_ALL="C"
I tryed deleting .eMule, .aMule and .wxcas, but with the same result.

Contact me for any additional info or test you may require.

Just updated to wxGTK 2.5.4 linked to gtk1 and seems that "cas -o" problem not creating the png is solved.

Will report if problem with wrong output is solved too.
The problem has not appeared yet, so I bet that this is solved too.
