Hi,
I installed aMule on various MdK systems without little or no problems.
Now I installed (RPM) everything according to the site's procedure on a SuSE 9.0 and nothing seems to wake up.
I get this error "Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0" .
I used the console to start amule without success. aMule does not appear in the KDE menu either...
Installation was done with console then removed then reinstalled with YaST. But with no success at all.
Has anyone had this problem yet ?
Thanks for your help.

Do you mean the console (text-mode) or some X app emulating a console (like xterm, Konsole, etc) ?

are you starting amule as root or as the current user logged on to X ?
this error happens to me when I try starting amule as root, but I'm logged in as another user to X

Hi,
I used console with X .

I am starting amule as current user. But yes I can see what you mean here. I am going to try something ...Thanks

Hi,
Here it is, thanks to Aldebaran.
I am used to switch to su when using console (with X) kind of "automatically". So that's what I did to start aMule and it did not like that for obvious reasons.
I logged as user X on console and started aMule with /usr/local/bin/./amule and everything seems to be ok now.
Thanks again
