Title: amulecmd & amulecmdDLG
Post by: FCL on May 25, 2005, 03:43:31 PM
Hi,

I have a Linux box at home running aMule, that I would like to remote control by amulecmd or (more) amulecmdDMG, but running under windows.

on the "about" page of the project, it is told that the amulecmd and amulecmdDLG where available on WIN32.

Where can I find these tools (already compiled please) for win32 ?

Did anyone already compile them ?

Thanks

FCL

here you can read what we have atm and what we dont have for win32

http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=6009

if you want to remote controll with amulecmd, use putty to connect to the linxu box.... thats probably best way or use teh webserver

;)OK, I understand you don't like WIN32.

neither do I, but I have to do with it at work

And this is exactly what I read on the "about" main page of amule .org:

"aMule special features

* amulecmd & amulecmdDLG: command line interface or graphical command line interface, to connect to your running aMule and get status or send commands.
Works locally and from remote clients. NOTE! amulecmd and amulecmdDLG also work in WINDOWS! you can control your linux box from your office's windows ;) "

So it was said it should work...

i think it worked once.. but we didn't test it in newer versions of amule ;)

the about page isn't really up-to-date.. lack some new features and such  :))

cheers

hum?! where did I say I do not like win32?!

anyway, since amule-gui cannot authenticate from win32 to linux,  I doubt it works with amulecmd(DLG)
but I can surely try when I am home, since OMG I have a win32 pc aswell ;)

if it works I can mail you the amulecmd(dlg) binary if you want...

It would be great, thanks in advance if you can. :baby:

It's not a must for me as I have already installed VNC remote connection to control the box, but the idea is to go faster with amulecmd, whereas graphical VNC remote connection is slow. (especially when amule working the other side of course...) :]

I have to test the web server as well

(for win32 I just supposed from your signature  :D )

Cheers

Just for the records:
amulecmdDLG still doesn't work (that is: can't connect to amule / amuled) on win32. So asking to send it to you leads nowhere ;)

Just to confirm: It does not work X(

message "Connection Failed. Unable to connect to the specified host", whereas the netstat connection (:4712) is established.

Thanks a lot for the compile and the try anyway. :)

I have the webserver running now and anyway it's ok, Thanks for all

It does not authenticate. That's all ;)

Funny thing is that it works in the other direction, i.e. you can connect to a windows aMule with a linux amulecmd.

Windows versions of remote tools can't connect to amule(d), nethier windows nor linux they are running on.

amulecmd says 'Connection Failed. Unable to connect to the specified host'
and at the same time in amule log it says 'New external connection accepted'

Needs to be investigated... :]
