Title: Amuleweb --> doesn't accept any password
Post by: pietro8383 on January 13, 2004, 12:30:58 AM
I was really enthusiastic when i first read you guys had made the webserver a separate app from amule...  :D

I've tried in many ways to configure it and although i managed to let it run succesfully, i couldn't get a correct login accessing the log-in page from the net. ?(

When I run amuleweb i'm asked to enter a password (which password??? where should I set it?). Well, the only way to run amuleweb succesfully (i mean the only way the server really starts) is by entering no password at the given prompt.

I've tried entering the password I had set in .eMule file in my home directory and I tried entering a different (new) password but what I get is this:

[pietro@localhost pietro]$ amuleweb

This is amuleweb (WebServer)

Enter password for mule connection (return if no pass defined):

Creating client...
Now doing connection...
Using host localhost port /home/pietro/.aMule/muleconn
aMule is not running, not accepting connections or wrong password supplied

Is this a bug or is it just me getting something wrong??

thanks!

Pietro

I forgot the most important part: in the end althogh I can run the server succesfully when I connect to localhost:30000 I see the nice login page but every password I use (including no password) doesn't allow me to enter!!

Oh, really? I thought it worked becouse I had tried it with a previous version (when it was still part of the amule program) but it used to make amule crash more often!

Should I use telnet or ssh for amulecmd? I liked the webserver becouse it allowed me to control amule from my university computer lab.

There is a pass for amuleweb, but, of course, I won't report here for security reasons.

Wait till 1.2.5 that will have a way to set the pass or join our irc channel.
