Hello
So, this is my setup:
My connection had to be shared between my computer and my girlfriends. So, i have a freebsd 4.11 based router, with the default ports for aMule (and as I noticed, for eMule too) forwarded to my box, running freebsd 5.4. aMule is instaled from the ports colection.
The "real" ip i have from the isp ends with a 0.
This wasn't a problem when i was using eMule in windows (same machine, different OS because diablo works better on windows :D), but when i try to connect with aMule, i get:
2005-07-12 08:57:31: Warning: ******************* (*******************:4661) - NG : Your ip (*******************.0) ends with a 0. The edonkey protocol assigns a LOWID to you. It's OK, dont panic !
2005-07-12 08:57:31: Connection established on: *******************
2005-07-12 08:57:31: WARNING: You have recieved Low-ID!
2005-07-12 08:57:31: Most likely this is because you're behind a firewall or router.
2005-07-12 08:57:31: For more information, please refer to http://wiki.amule.org
2005-07-12 08:57:31: New clientid is 821741
I checked a couple of time the setup, and it works for eMule, but not for aMule. This is why I think this is a problem with aMule and not with the server software.

You mean you get HighID with eMule???
I dunno how that could be. Check "ID explained" (http://www.emule-project.net/home/perl/help.cgi?l=1&topic_id=103&rm=show_topic), notes #6 and #5.

its always a problem with your pc....
aMule has no problem getting highID whatsoever, check your freebsd firewall and check that you have setup the same IP address for your windows machine and for your freebsd machine if oyu use the same ports on e and a Mule

Sorry for answering so late.
The redirects are ok, the problem is the ip. so, these seem to be a server issue and not a client one.
I'm verry sorry about thinking otherwise

i dont want to disappoint you, but amule has for sure a highid-problem, at least the windowsport. i have tried three different versions, the precompiled 2.0.2, the precompiled 2.0.3 and a selfcompiled cvs-snapshot. although the ports are configured right (even some random portchecker, included the one from the emule-site said, ports are open/reachable, yet even reply in some cases), amule doesnt get a highid. emule get its highid, with the same ports.
i allready mentioned this prob in another post. maybe it has something to do with the protocolstack, and is windowsrelated, i dont know. but i know for sure, there is a prob. i dont think, that in this case, I have done a mistake, cause ALL other applications, emule, mldonkey and shareaza, are working the way intended.
so long,
