I am complete newb ... I am following the suse 9.2 compiliation on the wiki, and I keep getting this while trying to compile wxGTK
checking for GTK+ version...
checking for gtk-config... no
checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.7... no
*** The gtk-config script installed by GTK could not be found
*** If GTK was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GTK_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to gtk-config.
checking for gtk-config... (cached) no
checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.3... no
*** The gtk-config script installed by GTK could not be found
*** If GTK was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GTK_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to gtk-config.
configure: error:
Please check that gtk-config is in path, the directory
where GTK+ libraries are installed (returned by
'gtk-config --libs' command) is in LD_LIBRARY_PATH or
equivalent variable and GTK+ is version 1.2.3 or above.
As for the other things I am supposed to post, I do not have any folders in my usr/bin ...

you are missing gtk-devel install it over Yast2....
btw you dont have to compile if you dont really want to, just check out our download section, there are rpms for suse 9.2 and also 9.3....just install first the wxGTk for YOUR suse, and then the right aMule for your suse, it will be much faster ;)

I tried them both, at first yast just quit and did not install anything ... then after I installed gcc and gtt in opened, but it still would not install it ...

what are you trying to install gtk-devel ? or wxGTK and aMule?
could you maybe post some error msg or something...maybe then someone can help ya.

That was just trying to install amule ... Suse woudl not boot up after I turn my pc off .. so now I am running fedora core 4.
-
well we don have fc4 rpms atm...
here you are on your own compilng the stuff...
but I can garante you taht the "not booting suse" has nothing todo with aMule :D
if you have any problem compiling under fc4 just poste it here, we can figure it out ;)
