We can't really figure anything out from that. You need to provide us with a real backtrace. Please read this wiki page (http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Backtraces) to learn how.
-
Ok, but for a real backtrace, I must configure amule. I installed amule by rpm, and I failed to
install by configure, so that' ok, leave it along X(
I hope I can wait for Mandriva2006,and then I will see whether the amule still crash.
-
you can test this rpms i have made for mandriva/mandrake 2005le/10.2 they are known to be quite stable
http://linfreak.zapto.org/mandrake_10.2
If you give it a try,post how did went....plz.... :(
Cheers.....

Strange, I can't visit the link you give me. Can you give me another way to get the rpm? Thanks alot.
-
Well it was my fault....
http://linfreak.zapto.org and then go to the mandrake 10.2 dir....
Needless to say you need the wxGTK and wxGTK-devel so download them from the same link.....
Try it and post the results ...plz....just to know how it went....
Sorry about that... :))
Cheers....

I still cann't visit that link, so I can't test it. :baby:
-
Thats strange because this link has been serving with no problems whatsoever ?(
ohhh....well
try this:
http://linfreak.zapto.org/Mandrake_10.2/aMule-2.0.3-3_mdk10.2.i586.rpm
http://linfreak.zapto.org/Mandrake_10.2/wxGTK-2.6.0-1_mdk10.2.i586.rpm
http://linfreak.zapto.org/Mandrake_10.2/wxGTK-devel-2.6.0-1_mdk10.2.i586.rpm
or
http://clientes.netvisao.pt/~paujorgsm/wxGTK-devel-2.6.0-1_mdk10.2.i586.rpm
http://clientes.netvisao.pt/~paujorgsm/wxGTK-2.6.0-1_mdk10.2.i586.rpm
http://clientes.netvisao.pt/~paujorgsm/aMule-2.0.3-3_mdk10.2.i586.rpm
in one of them you should be able to download..... enjoy...
:rolleyes:
Cheers....
-
Ok, I've download them all by the second part link, and still can't first.
1)And I've installed wxGTK2.6-2.6.1-0.1.205rtr.i586.rpm of amule home, do you think I must install your rpm Is the two wxGTK2.6 same?
2)Do I need to install wxGTK-devel-2.6.0-1_mdk10.2.i586.rpm? My old amule 2.0.3 can run without devel rpm.
3)Thank you alot, I am using it which seems very stable. if there is some wrong, I will tell you.
-
Hello!
In answer to you:
1)they are not the same cause the one you mentioned is the 2.6.1 version and mine is 2.6.0....is it running?if so then shouldnt be a problem...
2)well...im sure amule can run without wx-devel but notice that my amule rpms have:
- amuled (amule daemon )
- webserver
- wxcas
- cas
- amule-gui
- amulecmd
....so amule might run but amule-daemon could not....so i guess you must test it
;)
I might update the wx rpms soon with the latest version(2.6.2)...so i must spend some time in this to see what i am going to put in the rpms of amule,
maybe a rpm only with amule,maybe another with amuled and webserver and so on....so if you have any problems with those just post it and i maybe this week i can have things rolling to do that....
:O
Cheers...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And when I use your amule rpm, I can't see the chinese file name which was downloading by official amule in transfering catelog. So I have to use "env LC_ALL=zh_CN.UTF-8 amule"
to start it. But you know, when I use official amule2.0.3, I needn't to do this. So might you
solve it if you are not so busy?
-
Hum...i guess i must start to use unicode in wx compilation....so...stay tune cuz i might build this before the weekend....I will post when ready..... 8)
If it is stable and the only problem is just the strange caracters....well...enjoy until i get this fixed...
:D
Cheers....
-
Ok, thank you. Untill now it's very stable.
-
Well its done....I have built some rpms of wx and amule-2.0.3 with unicode so...those strange caracters in file name and nick are now displayed properly....
http://linfreak.zapto.org/Mandrake_10.2/unicode
Dont forget to install the wx-gtk2 packages(no devel required now)...you may have to install xorg-devel package but if you dont want to then just do:
rpm -Uvh --nodeps wx-gtk2-unicode-2.6.2-1_mdk10.2.i586.rpm
amule will work fine without that....
Enjoy!! :D
PS:I have added a cvs version of amule with kad suport wich until now is running smoothly....
Cheers....
-
Please give me another link, because I cann't visit your link, thank you.
-
LOL...dont know why but .....here it goes:
http://clientes.netvisao.pt/~paujorgsm/amule/wx-gtk2-unicode-2.6.2-1_mdk10.2.i586.rpm
http://clientes.netvisao.pt/~paujorgsm/amule/aMule-2.0.3-1_unicode_mdk10.2.i586.rpm
and if u need the devel one for rebuilding and stuff like that:
http://clientes.netvisao.pt/~paujorgsm/amule/wx-gtk2-unicode-devel-2.6.2-1_mdk10.2.i586.rpm
and the cvs version with kad enabled:
http://clientes.netvisao.pt/~paujorgsm/amule/aMule-CVS-20051006.i586.rpm
Have fun !!!

thank you very much, I'll try it now.

You are welcome :D

-

BTW, are you a amule worker?
-
Nop....just a guy with nothing else to do.... :P
-
I don't know why amule don't use your rpm, :( ;(
-
Post the error here...plz ;(
Thnkz
-
Ok, if I find error, I will tell you, but until now all is Ok, very stable and good
-
What about the missing caracters ?
Are they gone?

O, yes, of course. Now I only need use command 'amule', then all is ok, so you are so wonderful.
Only one little thing, maybe your amule doesn't add icon to start menu?

Im not an official packager so i just release this ones to help the community if they are having problems with the defaults from amule.
You know i was a newbie myself(still am i guess :)) ) and it was very hard to find rpms wich worked fine...i had mess my system many time with those tar.gz things ...so i have learned to build rpms (not dificult though)
:D
Cheers....

Cheers
-
Ok, that's so little thing, your amule is good enough.
Do you think your amule can work on mandriva 2006, which is released today?
-
But I am a low id, so does kad do good to me?
-
Well...you could try...more likely the worse can happen is not work....I was a member of the mandrake club but not anymore so i must wait to download and test....hey...i remember something...i have rc2 around so tomorrow i could try in a box i have around here.....i will let you know how it went..... 8)
Cheers
-
really??? hey mine works fine...try to connect to another server
-
Ok, I am not club member, so I just wait to free download, it's so boring.
If I have 2006, I will test your rpm as soon as possible.
I have to work now, see you and thank for your effort
-
Any time....test it and let me know how it went....i really thank you for your feedback....
Happy aMulling!!!
Cheers
-
unluckly, the files you give me, aMule-2.0.3-1_unicode_mdk10.2.i586.rpm and wx-gtk2-unicode-2.6.2-1_mdk10.2.i586.rpm can run in mandriva 2006.0. The amule crashed very soon after running. So could give me the latest amule-unicode-mdk rpm files?
The error is following:

Hey....I am sorry but i havent had any time to work with this,since my little girl has just born... :D
But today i will try to spend some time with this....so...be a bit patient... :))
I just managed to build aMule-2.0.3 rpm with the official wxGTK2.6 and libwxgtku-2.6 versions for mandriva 2006 so u can test it if u like,just uninstall the wx rpms you downloaded from the link i gave you and run:
urpmi wxGTK2.6
and also:
urpmi libwxgtku2.6 <= i believe thats the right name of it but be aware of the "u" since there is another wich is the same version but without the "u" wich means unicoded....You know for the strange chinese caracters...
I must check why some of you cant visit the link in my server :(
http://clientes.netvisao.pt/~paujorgsm/amule/aMule-2.0.3-1_mdk10.3.i586.rpm
Cheers....
-
Thank you very much and congratulations for your baby.
I don't know why you original packages of 10.2 works now. I just remembered that I uninstall many wx.... packages and amule. Then reinstalled your amule-unicode and wx-unicode.
Now it's all well, except that When I finish the file named by chinese character, it's name becomes wrong character in my kde and console.
my locale is:
******************************
LANG=zh_CN.GB2312
LC_CTYPE=zh_CN
LC_NUMERIC=zh_CN
LC_TIME=zh_CN
LC_COLLATE=zh_CN
LC_MONETARY=zh_CN
LC_MESSAGES=zh_CN
LC_PAPER=zh_CN
LC_NAME=zh_CN
LC_ADDRESS=zh_CN
LC_TELEPHONE=zh_CN
LC_MEASUREMENT=zh_CN
LC_IDENTIFICATION=zh_CN
LC_ALL=

and now I only have:
**************************
aMule-2.0.3-1_unicode_mdk10.2
wx-gtk2-unicode-2.6.2-1_mdk10.2
*******************************
Thank you very much.
BTW, do you have the rpm for the amule-cvs with the kad in mdv2006 I have a look at the amule cvs website, but I don't know how to use that cvs version, I am not familar with rebuild software.
-
Thanks... :D
The locale "thing", i believe is a wx-2.6.2 bug....I tried to search for a patch but i couldnt find any....
and here you go:
http://linfreak.zapto.org/Mandriva2006
Have fun.... ;)
P.S:If you can not open this link,try with another browser like konqueror or any other...
Post any problems you might have .....
Cheers....
