Title: Statistics showing wrong uptime.
Post by: vdb on November 11, 2005, 11:12:15 PM
Every now and then, and I have observed this in stable releases too, the uptime counter in statistics is interestingly wrong. Take my current uptime of the amule daemon:
aMulecmd$ statistics
 > Statistics
 >  Uptime: 14665 Days 14 hours

I know Linux is stable, but this is a bit odd  :)

This must be caused by changes on your system clock

Hmm, I do run a NTP client/server combination which adjusts the system clock every now and then, but that's only a few seconds, not 14000 days...

The daemon has been restarted a few times after the DST change end of october, also syslog does not show major changes in the clock time, with the system being up for 145 days now. I'll try to see if it happens again in the coming few days.

what's the real uptime of the daemon?

At the time I posted the note it was up for approx. 25 hours and 24 minutes. At that time it had not reconnected to a new server yet.

I might have found a reason for this.
