Title: Problems doing local search
Post by: brian73 on March 04, 2006, 12:52:32 AM
I was running 2.0.3 when I suddenly couldn't make local searches on Razorback which is the server I'm always logged on to. I've had the same problem once before but it disappeared after a while, don't know how. This time the problem continued and I installed 2.1.0 but I still had the same problems. Now I'm trying the latest CVS but am still experiencing that problem. The global search works fine but it is too slow. How can I get the local search to work again.

I've tried several different server.met files from searching at google as well as this one.

Thanks!

i heard this:
strangely i couldn't find any english speaking news on google, here's a (pathetic) attempt to translate german into english:
"Razorback 2, one of the largest Filesharing-Server in the Edonkey-Network, was seized and shut down by belgian and swiss  prosecution authorities . Apparently the users do not have to fear any investigation...."
maybe that'a clue? at the moment my search (global AND local) returns zero hits, don't know why that is...even for files i have in my dl-cue already...strange!?
i run amule 2.0.3
can anybody help?

my global search works again; after thinking it all over,i doubt the seizure of razorback has anything to do with this problem though...but at least it explains why you can't get connected to RB2.

Well, with RB down brian73 was most likely connected to one of the fake server "Razorback2.1" and alike which don't return any search results at all. Just connect to a real server (Donkeyserver No. 1 for example) and your local search should work again ^^

Yeah, I have also same problem. (I'm using aMule 2.0.3 on my Fedora 3 OS, my favorte servers Razorback X and Donkey Server X)
But I tried different servers that I don't normal use (like Em Server) I got local search results.
