Title: RE: aMule Universal Binary: Call for Intel Mac Testers
Post by: NiKo87 on March 16, 2006, 10:05:40 PM
How to compile an universal binary version of aMule on a G5 Mac?
I have to redistribuite aMule with patches for an Italian ISP but I use a G5 so the compiled version is unstable on Intelmac. Thanks :)

Take a forum search about "adunanza", learn that we don't give *any* support for that mod and go away...

I'm not asking for support for the mod :)
I'd only like to know how to compile an Universal Binary version of aMule, why you have to react like that?

I guess because we don't help "redistribuite aMule with patches for an Italian ISP" :)

The fact that I have to apply these patches is irrelevant because everyone has my same problem when trying to compile aMule in Universal Binary, with or without patches. So please answer me if you can, or ignore me. But don't tell me to go away :)

Well, you're trying to do something we don't like and don't support. That's basically your choice, not much we can do about it. Then you're asking for help to do it, here on our forum. That's the point where our opinion of "what we like and dislike" is starting to be quite relevant. The point is: Yes, i could answer your question if I wanted to. No, I don't want to. No, I won't ignore you while you are doing what we disapprove on our own forums. And yes, I will tell you to go away ^^ And yes, if you keep on annoying me I will start to get pissed, up until now I was still trying to be nice...

Thanks dude, I just tried to separate it myself but all the new posts were already gone... ;)

EDIT:
Just out of curiosity, what are these "patches for an italian isp" supposed to do? Something that can't be accomplished through ipfilter.dat?

Yes, but following the "Wiki" procedure for compiling aMule on Mac OS X I get a .app that doesn't work very well on Intelmac. I think there is something to activate during the config in order to make it Universal. I've searched Google but I can't find anything.

It's not me who makes the patch. However we have an ISP that gives a private IP, so we have LowID on external servers or firewalled while using KAD. I think the patch only filters the result in the search using KAD. Without the patch, using the normal aMule, I get very very slow download speed but enormous upload speed. With the patch I continue to have enormous upload speed but I also manage to download at a fast rate.

P. S. Sorry for the OT :)

The fact that you don't even know what the patch does is quite scary.

The fact that we disaprove it and its usage, should be a good hint.
