I had the message "you re not connected to a server" while I was using my amule 2.0.0. It sais also at the bottom that my version was outdated or smthing lik that...
So I downloaded the newer version, put it in my applications folder, but when I clic on it nothing opens...

Have a look at this thread (http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=9212). If you could follow the instructions from my second post in that thread and post the results back into that thread that would be great. :)

Good call. That's a definite possibility.

yes, oups!
but now I ve got the right version, I ve managed to open it, but when I do a search, it says that I m not connected to a server...How do I do that?
-
Click on the "Connect" button, top left ^^
-
I clicked on the little triangle to update servers list
I was then able to do a search, but in the file transfers window, it goes very slowly...
Is there anything to do to improve the download speed and efficiency?

thanks
but how do I know what are my up/download speed limits?

You should have gotten that information from your provider (e.g., info material, your contract, etc.), But you could also try to find it out using a connection tester (http://www.google.com/search?q=connection+speed+tester).
However note that connection speeds are often specified in kilobits per second while aMule wants you to enter kilobytes per second. Since 1byte = 8 bits, you need to divide the speed in kbit/s by 8 to get the speed in kbytes/s which aMule needs.
