Easy connection settings

Hi I have seen some connection settings on the forum but I'm still confused. When I look at the Connections page in Preferences I don't know what to do. I don't expect the fastest or the best just something that works OK. Can someone please tell me what a good set of values to put into each box? There are bandwith limits and line capacities, standard client TCP port and extended client UDP port, max sources per file and connection limits and network boxes to click. It's all another language to me so could someone make it simple with some good basic values. Many thanks

all the values depend on your connection type, bandwidth, operating system on your PC, and other data that you don't give to us, so we cannot help you without more knowledge about your connection.
Regards.

Thanks for the reply. I have Orange broadband 8MB and use an Apple Mac g5 1.8 GHZ dual processor with lots of hard disc space and ram. I usually get quite good internet connection speed. Hope this helps.
