Amule and refreshing shared files list
« on: January 06, 2006, 08:22:27 AM »

Hi all,

I have been keeping and eye on this for some time, if I manually move, delete, rename or do whatever to a file which is in any of amules shared directories amule will crash, not immediatly, but it will after a while. But, if after changing the file i manually get amule to refresh the shared files list, if will keep on working fine.

I have notice this behaviour cause i usually leave amule running when i go to work or overnight, and, if i move a file and forget to refresh, next time (after hours) i have a look amule would have crashed, maybe its just coincidence and its crashing for another reason.
This didnt happen with amule 2.0.3 and have starting to notice it in CVS, dont know for how long... and now in 2.1.0 too.

My guessing is that the crash happens when someone asks emule for the changed file and have to serve it, it cant find it and just crashes. I have come to this conclusion because i have never experienced a crash immediatly after moving files but after a while.

I use debian sarge with wx 2.6.2.  compiled manually. I also compile amule by hand.

$./amule -v
aMule 2.1.0 using wxGTK1 v2.6.2 (OS: Linux)

Cheers!
