Dont want to open

hi, i just download this aMule 2.1.3 but when i double click to open it just open for a second then  dissapear. i just totally lost n desperate, i tried to re-install couple times but still wont open. pls help me. thx

Please open aMule in a terminal and post the output here.

Two common problems that produce the symptoms you describe:

  • You downloaded the source code for aMule.  It contains a shell of the aMule application, but it isn't complete and can't be launched.  Solution: download the actual Mac binary instead of the source code.
  • You downloaded the Tiger-only binary, but you only have Panther.  Solution: download the Panther-compatible binary.

i just downloaded the aMule 2.1.3 mac universal tiger only. i dont know anything bout terminal or something heheheh, coz this is the first time i use mac. what should i do next? thx

aMule will then produce some output in the terminal window. Copy that output and post it here. :)

Close -- you missed this part "It will also add a space after the path. Delete the space at the end of the path." ;)

Just copy and paste the following line into the terminal window and hit return:
/Users/melyasuryanto/Desktop/aMule-Mac.CVS.2006-06-03.noDebug_Panther\ Folder/aMule.app/Contents/MacOS/amule


EDIT:
Wait, it looks like you actually downloaded the completely wrong version:
"aMule-Mac.CVS.2006-06-03.noDebug_Panther.zip" is for Panther, the older version of Mac OS X, and does not run on the new Intel based Macs. Plus, it's a CVS version (i.e. a developer snapshot; for more information read the thread that is linked in my signature below), that needs to be started through the terminal with a particular switch.

The version you want to download is this version.

i dont thing my mac is with intel processor, then what n where should i install to make it work? coz normally i use pc n it works

Ok, let's first figure out what you are running: Click on the blue apple in the top left corner and choose "About this Mac". If that dialog says "Version 10.4.something" you need to use the version that I linked above. If it says "Version 10.3.something" you need to download this version.

After you have figured out what the correct version for your Mac is, try to start it via double-click. If that does not work, go to the Terminal and do the following steps again (and post the output here):
