This is to document a problem that I had, which was cured by following the instructions for:

Get a clean Serverlist and up-to-date IPfilter
http://www.amule.org/amule/index.php?topic=16690.0

When I would conduct a global search, for anything, e.g., "Sting," aMule would lock up until the search was complete. I was unable to stop the search, or do anything else with aMule, while my CPU usage for aMule was hovering around 90%, and the fans on my MBPro were screaming.

When the search was complete, I would have hundreds of spambot responses including the word "sting," with 10,000 sources each.

By following the instructions in the above article, this appears to have been cured.

Running amule 2.2.2
