Error 7 ??
« on: September 28, 2004, 02:12:00 AM »

hey.

i repeatedly get the following messages:
(1) "Client xxxxx (xx.xx.xx.xx) caused error 7. Disconnecting Client"
(2) "Not sending SecidentState Packet, because state is zero"

since those started, i dont get to download anything, and i bearly have any clients on my queue.
any suggestions on how could this be corrected??

my set:
CPU: Intel P200 MMX
DIST: a very anorecsic installation of Slack10 with minimal libs and packages.
KERNEL: 2.4.26
GUI: FluxBox w/ atkLib

this little box, being spesificlly used for downloading, therefore doesnt have a keyboard, mouse or a monitor.

thnx for taking you time.

Disable verbose debugging messages.

Ignore those messages, hey aren't important.
If you aren't connecting or are getting very few connections:
a) make sure you are sharing some files (to gain credits)
b) try downloading popular files (since non-popular files have very few sources)
c) tweak Preferences -> Connections -> Max Sources and Connection Limits
Have in mind that for the first few (about two) weeks, aMule will download very slowly since it will have yet no credits, but after about two weeks of sharing, it will download rocking fast! :-)
Also, please have aMule running and sharing the longer you possible can. It is recommended (in the eMule website) to have aMule runnin permanently 24h/day.
All the above is not aMule-specific, but ed2k_clients-specific, so don't blame aMule, it's the protocol's design ;-)
Greetings!

hey Jacobs.

thnx for the feedback. actually i've been running aMule for a while now.
the thing is that like aweek ago i would have about 400 people on my queue.
now i have less then 60. and i dont get to donwload anything. it started just about 4 days ago.
the box aMule set on works 24-7, it's a little servcer designed specificly for that task.
the problem is that i havent downloaded even a byte since those errors started.

well maybe it's somehow not related to those error.
but any further help would be great! thnx guys

if it is green highID if it is yellow lowID

it does not have anything to do with the error in the first post, I am just trying to find your sources ;)
