Large files (> 4 GB)?
« on: April 19, 2006, 11:11:39 PM »

Hi. I am new to aMule and would like to know if it can download large files from the eDonkey network. in Linux. That is, files greater than 4 GB in size.

I have not encountered any problems with recent CVS. If there would be a serious problem, there's a forum-news by a dev. You *may* notice some bugs, but it's running stable for me.
I see no reason to avoid CVS.

That usually happens after somebody ran into serious problems and reported it to us. If you are that very somebody you might experience serious trouble. We discourage the use of CVS snapshots for anybody who is not willing to us latest and untested code and ready to face the consequences without whining. That includes possible data corruption, bad breath and your pet dog being raped by the neighbor's cat.

If that doesn't scare you off you're welcome to try. If it does: wait for 2.2.0 ;)

Yeah, but don't get us wrong, we need testers. :D

We do our best to keep the development snapshots working, but the point of a development snapshot *IS* testing new features, so if you are bold enough, testing is ok. And it helps us to get the bugs out of the program before release. And it may get your nick in the changelog "thanks".

Cheers!
