Hi there!
Recently I switched from Mandriva to SuSE 10.1. When I try to install aMule 2.1.1 from IhmSelbst (http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=9468&sid=) I get the following erros:
localhost:/home/agapetos/downloads/rpm # rpm -Uhv *.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libbfd-2.16.91.0.2.so is needed by aMule-2.1.1-2.SuSE_10.0.ihmselbst.i586
libgd.so.2 is needed by aMule-2.1.1-2.SuSE_10.0.ihmselbst.i586
libexpat.so.0 is needed by aMule-wxGTK-2.6.3-1.i586
If I try the version from Gerd78, I can install it, but when I run it get this:
----------------------------=| BACKTRACE FOLLOWS: |=----------------------------
Current version is: aMule 2.1.1 using wxGTK2 v2.6.3 (Unicoded)
Running on: Linux 2.6.16.13-4-default i686

If I try to install the version from the Packman website (http://packman.links2linux.org/?action=574) (for SuSE 10.1) I get the following:
rpm -Uhv aMule-2.1.1-1.pm.2.i586.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libbfd-2.16.91.0.2.so is needed by aMule-2.1.1-1.pm.2.i586
libgd.so.2 is needed by aMule-2.1.1-1.pm.2.i586
Can someone please help me. I don't know what to do anymore. Perhaps I'll just have to wait for someone to post aMule - SuSE 10.1 packages.

Please wait a few days until someone makes an RPM specifically for 10.1. These RPMs you tried were all built for 10.0 and won't work correctly on other systems. It's partly my fault because I built "my" package on a 10.0 system. I thought I had taken into consideration all things to make it work on future systems also, but it doesn't seem to work - Sorry for that.
PS: libgd.so.2 is in the "gd" package.

Could you please try the new package, built specifically for 10.1:

Thanks!
The installation went smoothly without a glitch and the first run as well! Great job!

I have just upgraded to Suse 10.1 from 10.0 and have the same problem -
error: Failed dependencies:
libbfd-2.16.91.0.2.so is needed by aMule-2.1.1-1.pm.2.i586
Hopefully, your package above will work, but your link does not work (hosting server counting down seconds but not serving anything).
Is there another way to get this file? Thanks!

What System do you have currently? 10.0 or 10.1?
10.0 has: libbfd-2.16.91.0.2.so
10.1 has: libbfd-2.16.91.0.5.so
This subtle difference is why you can't mix packages - it's not possible, the libraries are not compatible.
The one you just tried to install is for 10.0 and will not work on 10.1. For the one I built for 10.1, you have to install the binutils package first, this will give you libbfd-2.16.91.0.5.so, and then aMule.

After it finished you'll see a mirror selection dialogue and you have to type in a code in order to download the file.
