Title: aMule 2.1.2 released!
Post by: Kry on May 28, 2006, 05:24:02 PM
Hey, is that new version I promised 2 months ago!  8o

This new 2.1.2 version is a BUGFIX version, STABLE version, based on 2.1.1 and NOT on current development code. This means it has way less features (i.e the support for file >4GB is not included, among with other cool aditions the CVS version has), but it should be way more stable.

Just check changelog for changes (duh). Mostly lots of fixes on amulegui and EC. Also SOCKS4a proxy support, and... wth, stop being lazy and check the changelog (http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Changelog_2.1.2).

Use the links on the main page, to the left, to download the new version. or click HERE (http://www.amule.org/files/files.php?cat=33).

You can also download the sources using this ed2k link:

ed2k://|file|aMule-2.1.2.tar.bz2|3239957|275efdc7327bed939b2b2289839c1b47|/|sources,213.202.214.113:9056|/

Right now, only the sources are available. Microsoft Windows' binary along with the MacOS X binary will be available ASAP. As for distro-specific packages, please visit the distro-specific forum.
[UPDATE] MacOS X Tiger and Panther packages up.The universal binary for Tiger users can be found here (http://www.amule.org/files/details.php?file=154). Panther users will want to download this version (http://www.amule.org/files/details.php?file=155)

Thanks to doctorzoidberg, bUscher, MichaelLong, Damnshock and thorero for the last-minute compilation checks.

Enjoy!

cool :)

but i wonder how this >4gb support manages to remain in the dev branch for such a long time? are there so many changes involved? i thought you'd just have to rebore some vars and recompile it? :)

OT: is it possible with this version of amule and the latest windows gui to completely configure a new amule installation on a remote linux box from the windows gui or are there important config settings that are only accessible through console / manual config file editing / X-session on the host where amuled runs?

I just finished uploading the Mac binaries to BerliOS and Sourceforge.

The following version is for Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4) users and particularly those with the new intel cpus in their machines:
aMule-2.1.2-Mac_UniversalBinary_TigerOnly.zip (http://www.amule.org/files/details.php?file=154)

Panther (Mac OS X 10.3) users won't be able to use the universal binary and should get the following version instead:
aMule-2.1.2-Mac_Panther.zip (http://www.amule.org/files/details.php?file=155)

patryk12: you only downloaded the source code. The amule icon you clicked on was just an empty application package. Get the version from the first link in this posting instead. :)

Just downloaded the source via ed2k (yeah!), and compiled it; everything looks good.

A big thanks to the amule team for all their efforts!

Title: 2-1 Panther not working
Post by: remi75 on May 29, 2006, 01:54:44 PM
I made 3 downloads and trials : each time I get the Panther version indicated in the forum from different download sites, it comes, gets itself unzipped, then when I double click on the 'amule' icon nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong ?

What are these "other cool additions" the CVS version has??(
Since I really need the 4Gb support I might switch to CVS once again... ;)
