I downloaded the folder, dragged the icon in the application folder. I double click on the icon, it appears in the dock like 1 second and then disappears! what can I do?

Welcome woachel!
We need to know more. Please start aMule out of a terminal. Because I don't know about the Mac-specific ways of doing this I'll just quote Lionel77. ;)
So first you need to start Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities/). Then drag the aMule application icon from wherever you keep it and drop it onto the Terminal window. Terminal will insert the path to the application onto the command line. It will also add a space after the path. Now delete the space at the end of the path and paste /Contents/MacOS/amule to the end of the path. When you then press return aMule will start.
Please tell us what error messages you see in the terminal.

You probably downloaded the source code instead of the executable package.

Which package of aMule did you download and which version of Mac OS X do you use?
-
Mac OS X 10.3.9 (7W98)
version 2.1.2
i just figured out i need OSX 10.4 for that one :-)
where can i find a previous version?
thanx a lot for your help

There's an aMule-build for Panther as well: http://www.amule.org/files/details.php?file=155

But don't download 2.1.2 now. I'll post the Mac 2.1.3 binaries within the hour. Version 2.1.3 has a couple of important fixes over 2.1.2 (e.g., handling/selecting of languages, right-clicking on tabs, etc.). :)
