Title: SuSE
Post by: IhmSelbst on June 11, 2006, 09:08:07 PM
Several SuSE packages can be found on the usual place via the link in my sig.  ;)

9.0:
9.1 (on rapidshare-space):
9.2 (on rapidshare-space):
9.3:
10.0:
10.1:
All packages are built with patched wxGTK 2.6.3, which can be found in the directories of their respective versions.

Hi,

thanks for the package (and all the packages of the older versions).

I downloaded and installed  the one for SuSE 10.0. But when I start amule it still shows version number 2.1.2.

Is this normal?

Thanks again
Karl

No, that's surely not normal. - I just re-installed it for testing purpose directly from webspace with 'rpm -Uvh http://www.ed2k-serverboard.de/.../aMule-2.1.3-0.SuSE_10.0.ihmselbst.i586.rpm', and: it works. - ok, it shows some messages in english for some reason, and the confirm-on-exit-box is in hungarian, but the shown version is 2.1.3... OK,

I am sorry. It was my mistake. Yesterday I compiled for the first time aMule myself, to send a backtrace because of neverending crashes. I must have made a mistake with rpm and compiled installation.

I am not used to this kind of difficulties.

Thanks for your fast answer.

aMule for several SuSE-versions (on rapidshare-space):
and enter the subfolder 'aMule v.2.1.3'

Hi !

I always have the problem of compiler mismatch (wxGTK <=> amule) with downloaded version for SuSE 10.0
So i can't use downaloaded versions with "onboard" wxGTK (installing downloaded wxGTK from rpm site don't fix problem)
(@ this moment i'm compiling on my system an actual version which might fix the problem)
I'll give you resonse if it works or not...

Ciao Gerd

if you have those missmatch, then you did not use the right rpms...

if you use the aMule rpm from IhmSelbst, you also have to use the wxGTK rpm from IhmSelbst

I also installed the wxGTK rpm from Ihmselbst but that did not change anything...
btw: it seems that my self compile works....

There is a RPM of amule for SuSE Linux x64?

If yes, where I can found RPM?

If not, the 32 bit is working on SuSE x64?
If not, there is some who want help me to compile from source to create RPM for this version?

Some note:
I know a little of compiling under linux, but only a little... :-)
I know how to recompile kernel
I have compiled other packages before, some ok and some not
I have some time to spent, but not whole weeks... :-)

Hi ihmselbst!

It seems like there's a wrong version of binutils in your Suse 9.2 packages. Would be great if you could take a look at this issue.

Regards

These are 32-bit Binaries and will not work on 64-bit systems.

Any suggestion where I can find a running 64bit version of wxGTK-2.6.3-1?
Alternatetive: Are all the files within the package affected? If not, which one's are?

You could try my packages. They are statically linked to wxGTK, so they don't need any external wxGTK libraries.

But you will have to install them with --nodeps because there is no 32 bit version of libgd.so... It's not that much of a problem, however, because only cas needs libgd.so.

As you meant this, Gerd78,: http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=10322&sid=

Great Work.
Do you possibly have a workarround? Is it done by compiling wxGTX and amule yourself?
Possibly you'ld like to teach a little.

If not, no prob. also, and Great work...Thanks a lot so far....

By the way, before I tried this:
http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Compilation_Installation
but the line ldconfig didn't work.....
