Title: aMule AND eMule TOGETHER.
Post by: RAF2 on June 14, 2006, 03:48:56 AM
Hello guys,

Is it possible to use these two together?

I mean, I have a dual boot system, Linux + Win2000. When I'm on Linux I use aMule, when on Windows I use e-Mule.
I've set a common partition which both OS can see and write to (H:).

Both aMule and e-Mule are set to save the temporary and downloaded files on this partition. All is good.

The question is:
I want to keep the credit files common to both, how can I do that?
As I've read and searched, looks like these files are:

- criptkey.dat
- preferences.dat
- clients.met

Can these files be common to both clients safely? I can copy the new ones over the old ones without any harm? e-Mule can read these files if they're written/changed by aMule?

Thanks. :)

In short, yes.

Thanks! :)

BTW, is there a way to tell aMule in which directory are these files above, so I could point to e-Mule's folder instead of copying each time I switch OS's. :)

Maybe by editing the source code and compiling it?

use a symlink. Might work.
