Hi all,
I currently use aMule 1.2.4 (RMP from PLF for Mandrake 9.2).
Recently, my computer freezed, and I hard-rebooted it (I tried the various key-request, but none was working). I restarted my computer, checking the filesystem : everything was OK.
But, when I relaunch the mule, I discovered that half of my downloads were missings.
I take a look in my Temp directory : the missing files are still here. There is .part files, but both .part.met and .part.met.bak files are empty. There is no information inside.
Do you know a way to recovering the missing files ?
Is this already happen to anyone ? This is a bug ? How to make a backup of the .part.met files ? (In case of the same thing happen again... :-)
Thank you for your help,
Darckense
Ps : And excuse me for my poor english. :-)

yes, aMule 1.2.5 should solve that. I'm also making it even more secure on 1.2.7

I'm using amule RPM from Penguin Liberation Front, because there is not RPM for Mandrake on the site.
WxBase and WxGTK are packaged differently and I can't use directly your RPM nor recompile it from sources. I need to install WxBase and WxGTK from your site, but this mess up my installation for other software, so I wait the update for my disto... :-)
I don't understand why mandrake and redhat RPM are differents however.
So I will wait for a newer version which will fix the problem. It' fine.
Thanks.

Thanks for the link.
I will try this, and if this is not working, I will try one of the windows recovering tools.

Happened with me twice ... one with amule and another with xmule.
Lost about 4 Gb of .part files and all the windows tools were useless.
Now I got the 1.2.6 (thanks for the help with the apt-get) and just before starting amule I make a backup of all my part files to minimize the eventual lost.
Thanks.

Backups are always good
