Title: Restrict my shared files by type (.extension)

Hi,

Anyone know how to restrict shared files by type  (extension, not magic)?
I wish to restrict sharing such files as .gif, .dat, .tmp etc.
Is there a code mode to do this and if so, can the patch be published?

What do you mean by "restrict"? Not sharing at all (-> move them out of the shared folder), or limit sharing in a mystical way (friends only, bandwidth, number of downloads or whatever)?

Thankyou for your support on this issue.
Unfortunately, the shared source files are part of a public archive
and for quality, security and revision control purposes, the files are
on a read only f/s and so cannot be reorganized.

You could create a shadow directory of symlinks to the original files.
