Title: Videolan doesnt work properly
Post by: ejgutierrez on October 04, 2006, 12:21:33 AM
Hello. I use Fedora Core 4 and videolan 0.8.5. When i want to watch a preview of a movie, if i use xine it works perfectly. But when i change the player for vlc, it doesnt work. Also if i double click in a download file vlc it doesnt run.
When i use videolan outside amule it works perfect. Any suggestions ? i just wanna use videolan as i used to in windows with emule. In windows you need some kind of plugin in order to use videolan with emule. what do i have to do in order to make amule work right with videolan?
Thanks in advance.

I have the problem on my MacMini with OS X 10.4 and the newest amule/videolan.

Is there any Settings needed, that this would work?

Thanks in advance

Setting up aMule's video preview feature:
-----------------------------------------
You can use a video player like VLC or Mplayer to preview incomplete downloads of video files. To set up aMule properly for this, go to Preferences -> Directories. Under "Video Player", you have to enter "/usr/bin/open -a" together with the path of your video player program.

For example:
/usr/bin/open -a "/Applications/VLC.app"
/usr/bin/open -a "/Applications/vlc-0.8.4a/VLC.app"
/usr/bin/open -a "/Applications/MPlayer OS X 2.0b8r5/MPlayer OS X 2.app"
