Title: aMule crashes and won't start; user=dummy
Post by: SuperMole on November 20, 2006, 01:39:28 PM
Hallo everyone,

I'm a complete dummy in technical stuff about Mac, so using help from other threads is quite difficult for me. Better say, impossible.
After aMule 2.1.3 crashed, I landed here and tried to find a sollution. I tried to find an error log or something like that to find out what the problem was. Startet X11 but couldn't find the way either. Started pakkage mode or whatever it is and saw a report that "this instance seems to be running, try removing it". I'd love to, but I simply don't know how.
Downloaded and installed new CVS version from here, but the terminal says I have to "marry" aMule.... Again, I'd love to, but I don't know how. I can't even find Application support folder in Library.... Is there any tutorial for dummies? I'm blushing..... Would appreciate some help! Also about finding logs or crash reports or whatever might be helpful in order to understand the error.
Thanks in advance!

First, if aMule is reporting that another instance is already running, here's what you should do:

The simple way is to just log out and log back in, OR
Launch Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor.  Search for a process named "amule"; select it.  Press the "Quit" button in the toolbar.  Press the "Force Quit" button.

Here (http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=5051)'s an explanation on how to 'marry' your mule. ;)
