1. where do we go to find new and working KAD Nodes.
2. for a week i have always had 2 green arrows for my kad connection. Now all of a sudden i get a green left arrow and a yellow right arow. whats up with that?
PS. i checked my ports with the link and i got this...
Success The TCP port 4662 is available. You should be able to use the ED2K P2P service without any problems.
so hopefully i will go back to my normal HIGH ID soon.
i should have mentioned that even though i get 1 green and 1 yellow arrow i can still get search relults from KAD.

Lionell i KNOWWWWWWWWW you can help me :baby: LOL

I think you don't have to worry about this. You first have to make an active connection to another client via KAD [or similar] in order to get the green arrow. Your port forwarding should be correct, thus it's just a matter of time until you'll get the green arrow again.
Should you be unsure about the port forwarding, check whether the port 4672 UDP (standard, might be changed) is forwarded correctly.
About the nodes: Try http://nodes.soultcer.net

thank you so much ill try that.
im sure it is all forwarded correctly. like i said for a week almost i had 2 green arrows. now all of a sudden one green one yellow :( doah lol

what do you mean by this. and how would i check it?

The port used by KAD is the extented client UDP port. The standard port number is 4672.
You can check this in your router config, don't know another way.

well yesterday i updated my routers firmware and then it reset my port config. so i had to config it again and low and behold i got my High KAD ID back :baby:

and just to add, i have been using AMule for about 11 days and i am once again high ID on both networks but i still dont get super fast DL speeds. i usually get between 4KB/s - 25KB/s but i have a cable modem. i should be getting at least 70KB/s dont you think?

No. It depends on the uploaders, not on your download.

Explain please? Thank you.

In P2P programs you download files from other users. So, when you're downloading a file others are uploading that file to you. Your download speed can therefor never be higher than their upload speed.
As upload speeds are usually lower than download speeds, the uploaders are usually the bottleneck.

oooooooooh ok i get that then.
whats the difference between this and say Cabos (which i use on my mac to DL single files). On cabos i can get a song with a speed over 100 KB/s

ed2k is used for big files whilst your other filesharing network specialized on music or other small files. If you have small files the download speed is generally much higher.
Compare: One uploader, one song of 3MB -> One uploader, a 9.28MB part of a 4,9 GB Linux DVD image
In the same in which the first uploaded did upload the song 3 times the other just uploaded a tiny part of the whole iso.

oh ok i get it. thanks for the info :)
