Title: download speed
Post by: shpalt on January 14, 2007, 06:40:10 AM
I found out that I have a connection speed of
2235.6 Kbps

That is all I could get out of an online speed tester.  What do I input for upload/download/slot speeds?

I am trying to download. The seem to be sources put tranfer has been at 0 for hours.

Thank you

Your provider is comcast, Is this right?

According to what I found out via Internet (I don't have a clue about American ISPs) your maximum download bandwidth is 4Mbps and your maximum upload.384Kbps.
As one has to divide by 8 in order to get the numbers to insert in the preferences your connection is: 500KBps / 48KBps. One should not use the full upload bandwidth, therefore you should use 40-44KB/s (when surfing with 44KB/s feels slow lower the value a bit).

If I'm right about your connection, then this settings should be fine.

Slot allocation is the desired speed for one upload slot. e.g. if you want 5 upload slots you set your slot allocation to 8 as 40/8=5 each uploading with 8KBps.

Even with many sources I get:
101+50 (0)

with the (0) being the problem of course.

Any suggestions?
