Title: Auto-save
Post by: p1chunter on January 21, 2007, 01:53:08 PM
Please add an auto-save feature. When aMule is not shut down properly, I tend to lose a lot of data (GB's). I don't know how this is supposed to work, but I.C.H. seems to recover ZERO packages. A feature which saves the status+data every couple of minutes would be a life-saver, or at least a sanity-saver! aMule is a great application and an auto-save feature would be the cherry on the cake!

The app already saves the data and status. if by "not shut down properly" you mean a power failure, it's not strange you get filesystem problems, like loosing the downloads.

That's exactly what I'm talking about: If aMule would update the file-system regularly, a power failure would not be a big deal. Many applications do this (at least on Mac OS X).

BTW, I mentioned I.C.H. because after a power failure, I checked the file details and I saw that I.C.H. was unable to recover data that was downloaded after the last normal shutdown. aMule is clearly aware of the data, it just can't seem to keep it. I'm not a programmer, so I don't know if these file-system updates are possible in aMules cross-platform code, but I think it would be a worthwhile feature.
