There are 3 possibilities here:
1. You are connecting to fake servers. Try connecting to "DonkeyServer 5". But watch out, there are fake ones called the same, I can't tell you the right IP address now since I'm not at home.
2. Your ISP is blocking ed2k traffic. Try to change the port number you are using via the preferences menu. If this doesn't work it's most likely that your ISP really blocks p2p traffic effectively and we have no solution for this yet.
3. Use KAD. This works just as good as ed2k servers to get the necessary sources.

Just to add, the right Donkeyserver No X are the ones whose IP starts with 62.241.53.nnn The last number varies depending the X of the server. Normally, those 6 servers are the only ones I keep on the list of my [a|e]mule.

I live in Portugal too. I use a Mac and aMule and connect to the internet through oniduo.pt. There is no problem connecting to ed2K servers through this ISP. Check with your ISP and see if they block ed2K connections. Otherwise, it's probably a configuration problem. Read the aMule FAQ and search this forum for possible solutions. Boa sorte.
