Title: 2.1.3 on Suse 10.2
Post by: flatstan on April 20, 2007, 08:07:50 PM
I have been using Amule for some time on Suse Linux 10.1, it' great, no prob's.  I have just installed Open SUSE 10.2, I  had to look around to find a version of Amule that works with 10.2. I found it, and installed successfully, it works OK, slow as usual to start, & to get  a Buddy. A big problem is though - in searches, if I clear, reset, close a tab, close all tabs, then amule exits & I have to restart it. If I have started a download from searches it stays in transfers on an exit from searches as above. I can't find a way of fixing this in preferences. Any ideas/ suggestions ?  :(

This have been answered a gazillion times. Maybe more times. It's a bug with wxGTK and GTK 2.10. Update to latest wxGTK. Use 2.8.x or later. If there is no such version for suse, compile it yourself and compile aMule.

Regards.

I have had much trouble with this.  I installed wxGTK  2.8.3, made no difference. Deleted aMule & wxGTK, went to  "sourceforge" downloaded their package - aMule 2.1.3, wxBase 2.4.2, wxGTK 2.8.3 & installed all 3 - no difference. Uninstalled all 3, installed - wxWidgets 2.8.3, wxBase 2.4.2 - OK. On installing aMule 2.1.3 had to install wxGTK 2.1.3 as an extra, OK, but still amule exits on clearing a search. Can anyone ( who has had first hand experience of this problem)  tell me a proven way of solving the problem.
Searching posts only gives the same solution - use wxGTK 2.8, which I cant get to work.
