Title: Fake downloads in search window results
Post by: drMandinga on June 09, 2007, 12:39:19 AM
Hello there,

I reinstalled Amule yesterday, I don't remeber what version I had before.

I realised that now when I search for anything, there are always 5
items that appear in the top possitions, look s like somebody put a script
to advertise stuff, here is what comes up:

Find XXXXXXX using emule multimedia toolbar.zip
Download XXXXXXXXX with the fastest BitTorrent downloader.zip
Secure Downloading of XXXXXXXXXX with new secured Emule0.47c.zip
Find XXXXXXX using emule multimedia toolbar.zip

I use the Emule servers as Static, I can't believe that now I have to eat all
of this sh**t, because when before I could find almost anything, now the
search process is so slow and almos unusefull.  ???

anyone has any idea?
Greatly appreciated.

These fake files are send by bad servers you have in your server list when using global search/being connected to them. Try cleaning up the list, this should solve your problem.

Razorback is dead since many months ago, if you have it most probably is a fake server. Use the donkeyserver only.

Regards.

Hi

How do I clean up the server list? The problem here, of fake servers, is one I continue to have.
Should I also now forget completely about ED2K and local and global searches and just use Kad?
I always seem to  get a connection through a server with the word 'sex' in its name somewhere.
Perhaps if I only use KAD, I won't have this problem.
