Title: Status - "waiting" for far too long

Alright guys. I'm the noobiest noob you'll ever meet. I just made the switch from Windows to Mac, so I'm vulnerable as it is; now I'm trying to pick my way through this program as a previous limewire user.

I managed to start downloading something, but the status if the download has said "waiting" for about a half hour now. Is this normal?

Jep, just Doubleclick (or whatever Mac asumes) on the download. Then you'll see how long it takes.
