Hi all,
I'm getting the same error over and over: "Downloaded part 35 is corrupt in file: movie.avi"
It seems to me that (because the error gets repeated over and over) there is no corruption during tranfers but either this part is corrupted on the peers harddisk of there is something wrong with the file-hash.
Any ideas for a remedy?

Have you tried using the file to see if it works? if it's a movie, and only a byte is corrupte, most probably you won't notice it. Or check your hard drive, the part may be is saved to a bad sector and therefore it always fails the hash.
Regards.

Yeah it's a movie file and it plays fine.
How do i get amule to accept the corrupted part?
-
aMule will not accept it unless the part matches the hash specified in the .part.met file. I've seen cases where this file gets corrupted and some part will always appear as corrupted but is in fact fine (the corrupted is the hash, not the part) but these cases are very rare.
Regards.

Yeah it may be rare, but it seems that i'm having that problem right now. How do i repair the .met file??
-
Under windows, you may use a program named donkeydoctor. On linux you might have to edit the file manually using a hex editor. I'm writing a little software that might help in these cases, but it is currently read-only (it will open .met files, it shows their contents, but it will not modify them) and I don't know when will it be finished.
Regards.

Does there exist a guide or something on editing these *.met files?
Can i get amule to recalculate hashes? Can ik ban sources that keep on giving me corrupt parts?

You also can try bigwillystyle's metfileregenerator, available for win, linux and mac.
