Are credit rating and share ratio the same thing?
Where can I find my own share ratio?
Does one have a different share ratio for each file downloaded/uploaded?
Is it acceptable practice to take files out of my shared folder once I have a 'reasonable' share ratio?
What is a 'reasonable' share ratio?
Is my share ratio normally defined as up/down or down/up (although I understand one is the reciprocal of the other.
Sorry for so many basic questions, but I'm a relative newbie. And thanks for any guidance.

Any help out there please, or just a tip from someone...Thank you.

share ratio is the relationship between upload and download. share ratio of 1 means you downloaded as much as you uploaded from the file.
your own credits, meaning the upload score you got at other clients is not known to your own client.

aMule does show the ratio on the statistics window, session and total.

Please Help me! I'm so confused: stats shows
UL:DL Ratio (Total): 1.47 : 1 in my CVS running right now.
How can I fix this problem?!? ;D ;D ;D

Kry, once again learn to read before you open your mouth again. Below is SS of my Stat> Ratio.
It's not my fault how stupid you are. I agree is not first grade math, but I dare you divide by zero.
Duh.

I have been away and have just returned to find all your answers. Thank you, one and all. I hope that my questions haven't caused a diplomatic incident! The following questions remain unanswered, so I'll try and answer them myself, and hope that someone will correct me if I am wrong:
Does one have a different share ratio for each file downloaded/uploaded?
Is it acceptable practice to take files out of my shared folder once I have a 'reasonable' share ratio?
I guess the answer to both questions is 'yes' and that a reasonable share ratio, defined as UL/DL, must be at least 1.

Hi ngllgn,
I agree to the answer yes. If you can spare the disk space and bandwidth, it is a nice thing to keep files shared, but it is not "unethical" to remove them when you have a 1:1 ratio (unless you are the only source for a file)
I hope that my questions haven't caused a diplomatic incident!
Don't you worry, this has nothing to do with you.

ngllgn:
I think you already noticed that in the shared files tab there is a column that telles the share ratio of every file, so yes, there is a different share ratio for every file. The one shown in the statistics is the total amount uploaded VS the total downloaded, no matter which file the bytes come from/ go to.
Regards.

Thank you both, wuischke and skolnick, for your reassurances. Nick
