Title: Accept only obfuscated => firewalled
Post by: ecforum on November 08, 2007, 10:42:56 PM
Hello,

When I check "Preferences/Security/Support protocol obfuscation/Use obfuscation for outgoing connections" I obtain in Kad info tab :
Connection state : OK

When I ALSO check "Accept only obfuscated connection" I obtain :
Connection state : firewalled
firewall state : no buddy

It is normal to have a such log info ?

Thanks.

Maybe because you haven't any client with Obfuscation Support...

It is not advised to activate this option, generally...

I have clients with obfuscation because I can download.

Kad obfuscation is not complete, not in aMule, not in eMule.

Would it be safer to disabled KAD at this point then ?
I wouldn't want any unencrypted info to leak out an incomplete KAD implementation.
Thanks

obfuscation unequal encryption

Protocol obfuscation will not make you any safer if your idea is to hide whatever you are doing. It will only make it harder for your ISP to filter all your ed2k traffic.
