I have the version 1.2.6 with mdk 9.2. When I look the status, I see that Amule is disconnected from the server every 5 minutes exactly... Is there any option I didn't see ?
Thanks..

hey
when you are connected do you get an high ID or a low ID? (you can tell by the color of the arrows around the little earth on the right bottom side of the amule window. if it is yellow low ID if it green High ID)
some servers disconnect low ID clients after some time....
but other then that there is in prefs -- tweaks
a slider where it says "server connect refresh intervall" maybe that is turned on !?

Some times Low, some times high, always the same since 2 weeks....

so the disconnection from server could be due low ID
how to you connect to the internet?

hey,
do you use a router which is inbetween or is the dsl model directly connected to your maschine?
if you do use a router check that 3 ports are forwarded to your linux box. teh 2 ports which you secify in the prefs, and then a third port UDP which is the tcp port + 3.

OK, gonna check that cause I have a Wifi routeur before the linux machine....
Many thanks Stefanero

Hello stefanero.
I have a problem similar to GaveLinux. From my long server list (recent) I can only connect to about 10 servers. The others say "disconnected" imediately after the "connecting" or say "internet must be down". From the small group of servers I can connect, I get a high id only in two of them. But the connection lasts only for about 5 minutes (sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less), either on the low id or the high id servers.
I'm running amule 1.2.6 on mandrake 10.0. Have a modem-router. The firewall router is well set-up (three open ports and the rule "+3"). Also I'm using the mandrake firewall with the same setup. I tried to switch off the mandrake firewall, and enable DMZ on the router (couldn't find "disable firewall" option). Still, no changes on the amule behaviour.
"server connect refresh interval" is disabled.
The same setup (for router and SO firewall) in windowsXP allows perfect connections in emule.
Can you help me?
Thanks

hey,
do you also have the some setup for max connections in the prefs window? not that the connection setting in the amule is higher than it is in your emule box....
waht type of internet connection you god? cable? or modem?
when you set up the firewalll in mandrake make also sure you forward teh tcp and the udp packages for the ports...
just placing the port in the firewall setup might not be enought... and it does not help to put the linux in a DMZ when the firewall still blocks the ports...
maybe you can google for a firewall setup on mdk I don't think there are big changes in 9.2 and 10 but I don't know

I have the default setup for max. connections. I did try to lower it to 400, it didn't help.
My connection is ADSL (128,512)
I added the last two lines to /etc/shorewall/rules
ACCEPT net fw udp 5752,5745 -
ACCEPT net fw tcp 22,5742 -
DNAT net loc:192.168.8.3 tcp 5742 -
DNAT net loc:192.168.8.3 udp 5752,5745 -
it didn't help.
I dismissed the mandrake firewall, it didn't help. ;(
If I don't have a firewall on mandrake, the "thing" should be the router firewall...... no?
I did all I can to the router, ports forwarding, DMZed the PC IPaddress.....
I'm going NUTZZZZZZZZZZ 8o
