I know it will be an impopular demand, but here things are getting "dangerous" with cops starting tracking down users after they closed the biggets ed2k links site here.
Is it possible to add a feature that will allow sharing and being seen only from peple u have in the friend's list? :baby:
This will allow the birth of focused forums (anime only for example), with the ability to exchange files among the family and not risking to have your IP seen from the one you dont want. Like rejecting any connection from not approved buddies.. Like a private sharing circle in the network..
Just wondering.. thanks a lot for your time and work.

Just run you own server and you'll be fine

No, sorry, that feature can't exist. The only solution: don't share any files. Listing you files "in the old way" (that is, view a user's files) can be disabled, but all your files will still be reported to the server yuo are connected to. This is the way the ED2K protocol works. It's not an aMule issue, it's a protocol issue. What you are asking for is to change the whole protocol, which is obviously impossible ;-)
Any way, don't worry about the cops, things are giving the back to RIAA. Just don't share 120GB :-P

Or if you're worried by the cops, don't share copyrighted stuff :P

Eventually people will move to anonymous networks such as GnuNet or MUTE. When they become widespread, maybe Amule should include support for them and give users the option of using the donkey network, or the anonymous network, or both.
Just a thought.

hmmmm
but does this really help?
in germany for example the IP changes every 24h with most internet users, so when they would not track you down by IP.
The german telecom for example would look at all the internet connections they have, sort them by data transfer and the poeple whos traffic is higher then say 15gb is a filesharer.
and with the new laws here in germany some media companie could force the telecom to give out information about those High traffic users.
so actually just sharing to poeple you know or sharing in an anonymous network does not help. when your personal traffic is to high they can get you ;)
