Title: Little Snitch rules and general security for aMule
Post by: dwineguy on June 29, 2008, 02:52:00 AM
During my first week of using aMule—first 2.1.3, then 2.2.0—I have accumulated 823 Little Snitch rules. Two questions:
1. How should I set Little Snitch 2.0.3 for aMule?
2. Is there anything else I should do to maximize security while not preventing me from actually using aMule? aMule actually hangs (quits responding, requiring a forced quit) as I am in the process of  allowing 100+ connections during app startup.
Thanks very much for ANY help you may offer.

Please use a more recent version of aMule (aMule 2.2.1 at least)

I've downloaded and installed aMule-2.2.1-GeoIP-OSX10.4+-GToso.dmg, and am about to fire it up for a test drive. Please advise me on how to configure Little Snitch for aMule. Given that when I'm using aMule (or Azureus) I may be making dozens of connections in quick succession, how can I determine whether a particular IP or server should or should not be allowed. Any help is much appreciated. ;D

Many thanks! :)
