Hiya,
like you see we have successfully finished the move to our new server :D
we have now 5 GB webspace donated, so feel free to post ;)
Maybe there are still some things to work on (i.e., some links might not work), but we will fix it ASAP.
Some of you noticed that our old server was down last days .. ~27h downtime was related to an update & backup, but the small downtime and the slow forums before was related to someone called Ted R. Smith, a.k.a. Un-Thesis / HopeSeekr, xMule main developer and mantainer.
I called my provider and asked why the forum was down .. he told me about heavy loads caused by some scripts.. well, we don't have any scripts running so i looked at the server stats .. guess now what i found
(http://www.amule.org/test/webstats/stats3.png)
The IP is from that xmule guy that is trying everything to shut down amule... not only lies but also directly attacking our forums, that have limited bandwith.
We got some irc logs about it too (thx to the user)
Mar 31 19:11:38 their website wasn't *nearly* as pretty as mine
Mar 31 19:12:00 you have to admit xmule.org looks a LOTTTT better than amule.org in every way and is far faster to load
Mar 31 19:12:04 of course...
Mar 31 19:12:12 i accidently downloaded 15GB from amule.org
Mar 31 19:12:34 accidently left a while[true]; do wget -r amule.org; done running for about 5 days
Mar 31 19:13:02 HopeSeekr: accidently left a while[true]; do wget -r amule.org; done running for about 5 days : <- so what do you mean?
Mar 31 19:13:55 try it
Not that is enough, he is trying to tell other users to do the same .. dunno what to say .. he needs help, obviously. X(
We claimed SEVERAL times for Ted R Smith to leave us alone, and this info was kept in background to not make people sick when reading this, but Ted R Smith keeps flaming about us and spreading lies and we need to show his true face.
Thats all for now

Great news about the new server.
About UnThesis? No comments are needed
UnThesis disqualifies himself

This is for sure violating swbell.nets terms of use.
Write to abuse@swbell.net and let them know about this.
Keep logfiles ready, they might ask for some evidence.
The whole thing isn't funny anymore (well, it never was).
fz.

un-seekr wants to quit again. amule people broke his heart. he´s mentally unstable... blah blah...
does he want people feeling sorry for him? this guy has to see a doctor immediately!
-
Maybe he is mental unstable. But he made a really nice edonkey client. I really like his client.
He made his project opensource. Maybe he worked for it in his spare time. His stimulus to do what he did was the acceptance of the community. If he looses this acceptance somehow he will - guess what - quit. And that happened.
Childish but traceable.

Actually, while I agree that xMule is a good client (aMule is better IMHO though ;)), he didn't have a choice in making it opensource or not, as he forked it off from lMule, which was the first port of eMule to linux and which was released under the GPL. Pretty much in the same way which aMule was forked off xMule.

i agree...man that is the person who got imprisoned for kidnapping a girl and is crazy since then isn't he? I thought i was going to quit thinking about ed2k clients and "help" that girl getting her freedom? Or was that somebody else that claimed that? I'm pretty sure it was an Xmule developer that did...either they're all crazy or...wait seeing his attitude there surely is only one person as he couldn't ever work in a team. So...all i can say is...well..not much more than the person i quotet, he needs to see a doctor, honestly.
