Title: eD2k: High ID, but Kad: firewalled
Post by: darkpedro on August 14, 2008, 10:13:06 PM
Hello,

I use amule 2.2.2 on Mac OS X completely up to date Leopard 10.5.4. I
have a router Netgear WGR614 v6 on whom I activated UPnP to configure
the good ports. In the options of aMule, I also activated UPnP. But it is that the network eD2k is connected in High ID, contrary to Kad, is indicated like firewalled. I checked in the UPnP options of the router and the 3 good ports are listed. Here my ports: TCP: 5842, UDP:5956  UDPextended port: 5845.

I tried another list of nodes, by putting the URL directly in aMule: without success. I then tried to download the file, then to copy it in the ".aMule" repertory, but that did not go.
I tested remap the port manually in the router, but that did not go either.

My downloading are very slow on the network ed2k, and I would like to rock completely on the Kad network, but with Low-id, I do not think that that will give me satisfactory results.

I live in Africa and I am subscribed with the FAI Orange Central
Africa in 128 K Here their Web site (in French): www.orange.cf

With my old FAI, I had a connection which left all the time, but my downloading were more faster, in spite of the flow much slower than now.

I really hope that you will be able to help me, because I very think of having tried...

Thanks very much

Hi

thank you for your answer.

I left all by defect, except the ports

some routers don't like massive amounts of UDP packets and might crash or give lowid if at the limit.

try these settings to limit problems:

"upload limit" at 75-90% of your "real" capacity,
"max connections" 200,
"max new connection / 5 secs" 10,
and no more then 3000 overall download sources, if more, stop downloads to get it lower then 3000

Yes I've done that too, but it doesn't work.

What can I do?
